My Favorite Nontradtional Love Tarot Cards

The ten of pentacles, ace of wands, the star, and the strength cards are my favorite nontraditional love cards in tarot. These are not the cards that automatically come to mind when we think of romance. Nor do they imply that lust is hot and heavy, but they suggest that you have a good chance for your relationship to go the distance.

Ten of Pentacles - The ten of pentacles is one of my favorite cards in any reading; love, career, romance, etc. A well-aged man is sitting back in satisfaction watching his estate while his grandchild plays with the dog. Something we all imagine (even if we fail to admit it) when we are dating, in a relationship, or have just met a possible potential? Someone you can grow within every aspect of life? That is why I love this card and see it as very romantic. It will be romance in an earth sign kind of way; stable, secure, practical, and calm. It may even suggest marrying for money and security. It is an earth sign card. When people think of romance: sparks fly, immense physical chemistry, and butterflies in the stomach. This card does not suggest this. The ten of pentacles romance will be deep. It will be rooted and based on something that can have longevity. It truly embodies the adage that love is a verb and not a feeling. True romance is not heart-shaped candies, a hallmark card, and stops you in your tracks. Heating your soup when you are not well, supporting dreams and aspirations, and in doing so, you watch your nest egg grow together. You leave a legacy for your future generations.

Ace of Wands - Heart-stopping passion and fireworks is associated with this card. Those things can be good and something we look for in dating and relationships. What I like about this card is that it is an Ace card which suggests something new. A new beginning, a new start, a redo or refresh. A relationship that will never grow cold or stale and always feel fresh and new, sort of like a puppy/teenage kind of love thing. It also represents sexual pleasure and wanting to satisfy the other person. That is something else that we welcome openly in a relationship. This card can indicate extreme fertility because the sexual tension is so high. Your partner desires to have easily flowing communication with you. Their intentions never get misconstrued or misinterpreted. There are no hidden agendas with this card.

The Star - “Starlight, star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish, I wish tonight." This card in a love reading is a great sign. Your wishes are coming true. Hope and optimism are permeating your being. The type of love that will bring to you balance, peace, and serenity. What this card really shows is lots of hope and healing. With this card, there is a definite chance that your relationship still feels like a honeymoon. You heal by being in this partnership. Your outlook on life is grand and hopeful in this relationship. What can be better than that?!

Strength - This card represents a partnership with someone that is very emotionally intelligent. Emotional intelligence is an ingredient in a long-lasting, healthy relationship. Your partner is your rock. They will not bolt at the first sign of trouble, and that is what we all should strive for in a lasting union. It signifies a partner that embodies strength and confidence but is not loud and cocky. They will allow you to give them suggestions and step up if need be. No ego over there! This card also suggests offering a lot of security towards your partner and being dependable. That sounds like a dream come true!
